Dr Fin Williams BSc, MSc, D.Clin.Psy
Dr Fin Williams is a Clinical Psychologist professionally registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
She studied at the University of Wales, Bangor achieving a First Class Honours BSc in Psychology and Health psychology, and a Distinction in her MSc in Clinical Psychology.
Fin completed her Doctoral training in Plymouth, gaining an additional qualification in family therapy, and has been working in the NHS since 2003. During this time she has worked within a number of areas including infant mental health, child and family, adults, learning disabilities, and older adults, and is specifically trained to work with issues across the life span, selecting and when appropriate, integrating a range of evidenced and value-based therapies to provide a person-centred service. She currently works in Paediatrics and specialises in Chronic pain management and Chronic fatigue with young people aged up to 18.
We are delighted to have Fin as an integral part of the Ocean Physio & Rehab team. Fin enables us to provide a comprehensive multi-disciplinary pain management service currently not available anywhere else in the area. She will be offering both group and individualised pain management programmes, and individual therapy to clients suffering from the psychological impact of physical health problems. Clients that might benefit from this service include:
- People affected by chronic pain as a result of injury
- People adjusting to life with disability as a result of injury
- People adjusting to a new rehabilitation regime
- People suffering from anxiety and / or mild to moderate depression as a result of physical injury and disability
- People requiring support in managing stress and distress that may be affecting their recovery
